Married to Matt, with 2 children 7 & 3yrs.
With a research/science and teaching background, fitness is where Angie is finding her ‘home’. You will notice Angie has great ‘technical’ cues and approaches her trainings intelligently!
“After my first child, I became a stay at home mom and was generally unhappy with how I felt and looked. Even though I was nervous at first, I started taking group fitness classes and immediately loved it. I got to socialize with adults and get that “me” time that had suddenly become nonexistent. The first time I took a Body Combat class, I was hooked! I struggled, but the energy of the instructors and the people around me was contagious.”
Angie recently became certified Volee Method! With certs in Body Combat and Body Pump. She also completed AFAA Personal Training to be able to work with people on a more individual basis.
“There have been many bumps on my fitness journey, and I understand the struggle. I have lost a total of 35 pounds since my last child I and I am stronger than I have ever been, but I still have a way to go to reach my goals. But I love being active and sometimes surprise myself with what my body is capable of. I used to be obsessed with the number on the scale, but now it’s more about being confident with who I am and living a balanced, healthy life. I also love that I’m setting a good example for my children by living an active lifestyle.”
Professionally and personally my goal has always been to help people improve in ways that are meaningful to them. I taught English and Swedish at the Jr high / High school level in Finland. Achieved Sales Director status during my 15 year Mary Kay career (yes, with diamond rings and free cars!) Lead management for Customer Service and Marketing teams in the tech and Fitness industries as well as owned my own photo studio! Each of these careers allowed me to help people market better, look better and feel better. But what I really wanted was for people to BE better. Enter group fitness and personal training!
This video by neuroscientist, Sandra Aamodt talks about why dieting doesn’t work, but also the fact that doing things that are healthy for you are just healthy for you no matter what you weigh! THAT is my goal. To get you moving and feeling good about moving. To help you work hard, but not so hard so as to hate working hard! To help you find the body that does what you need it to for the life you want to lead.
